Oil & Natural Gas Fracking - Recovery and Surface / Underground Mining - Tar Sand Oil Extraction
Stainless banding, buckles and wing clips are used in the mining and energy recovery industry for hose fittings, hose assemblies, general securement and control box / wire clamping. Cables, pipes and air duct are also secured with stainless band in underground mines. The oil and natural gas fracking process uses large amounts of water to force out oil or natural gas. The tar sand / oil sand oil extraction process also requires large amounts of water to produce steam which is mixed with chemicals to extract the oil from the tar sands. Stainless alloys such as 201, 300 series, 316, are used depending on the severity of the corrosion level. Stainless steel buckles and wing seals / wing clips are used to secure the strap ends, depending on the application and tension level required. Stainless buckles are used when the tension requirements are high. Stainless buckles are used with the heavy .030” thick banding and wing clips / wing seals are used with .015” to .025” thick 300 series stainless banding for lighter duty applications.
The PMB 101 Ratchet Tensioner or the PMB 001 Crank Tight Tensioner are used depending on the application and tension level required. The higher tension Crank Tight PMB 001 is typically used with stainless buckles and the PMB 101 Tensioner is used with wing clips / wing seals. The PMB 1902 Tensioner is used for light tension applications with wing clips / wing seals. Stainless steel banding offers a long service life and a strong secure, versatile, non toxic, flame resistant, UV resistant, temperature resistant and corrosion resistant method of securement.
