Stainless banding is used for hose fitting, hose fabrication, bleaching drums, insulation applications and pipe-cable bundling in the process industry.
The corrosion level in the environments dictates whether type 201, 300 series, 316, 317 stainless, monel, or inconel banding is used. Stainless or alloy buckles, wing seals/ clips and closed stainless seals are used to connect the banding ends together. The model PMB 101 ratchet tensioner, PMB 1902 and PMB 001 Crank Tite tools are also used depending on the application and tension required. Stainless buckles are used when the tension requirements are high . Stainless buckles are used with the heavy .030” thick banding and wing seals are used with .015” to .025” thick 300 series stainless banding. The higher tension Crank Tite PMB 001 Crank Tite is typically used with stainless buckles and the PMB 101 Ratchet tensioner is typically used with wing seals.The PMB 1902 is used for light tension applications.
