Oil & Natural Gas Drilling, Fracking, Tar Sand Oil Extraction and  Pipeline Applications

Stainless banding, stainless buckles and stainless wing clips are used in the oil, natural gas and chemical pipeline /  distribution industry to hold insulation, control cables, piping, oil / gas down hole applications, cable / pipe bundling applications,  pipe patches, fittings, hose assemblies, hose fittings and pipe protective shielding. The oil and natural gas fracking process uses large amounts of water to force out the oil or natural gas. The tar sand / oil sand oil extraction process also requires large amounts of water  to produce steam which is mixed with chemicals to extract the oil from the tar sands.  Stainless banding and stainless buckles are used to secure the various  hoses to fittings and couplings. Stainless banding is also used for banding pipes and wires in underwater /  underground applications.  Drilling platforms, offshore oil rigs, and horizontal drilling applications also use stainless banding.  

Stainless alloys such as 201, 300 series and type 316 are used depending on the severity of the corrosion level.  Stainless or alloy buckles, wing seals / wing clips, the PMP101, PMB 1902 and PMB 001 Tensioning tools are also used depending on the application and tension level recommended.  Stainless buckles are used when the tension requirements are high. Stainless buckles are used with the heavy .030” thick banding and wing clips / wing seals are used with .015” to .025” thick 300 series stainless banding. The higher tension Crank Tite PMB 001 is typically used with stainless buckles and the PMB 101 is used with wing clips / wing seals. The PMB 1902 is used for light tension applications .Stainless and alloy banding offer a strong, versatile, secure, non-toxic, flame resistant, temperature resistant, UV resistant and corrosion resistant method of securement.
