Stainless banding is used in locomotive, subway tanker heavy equipment and train building / production. In the trucking, tanker, transport sector, stainless steel banding is used for exhaust heat shield securement and for hose/fitting fabrication in the trucking and fuel delivery industries.
Type 201 and 300 series stainless banding is adequate in these industries. Stainless buckles and stainless wing clips / wing seals are used to secure the banding ends together. The PMB 101 ratchet tensioner and PMB 001 Crank Tight Tensioning tools are also used depending on the application and tension level required. Stainless buckles are used when the tension requirements are high . Stainless buckles are used with the heavy .030” thick banding and wing seals are used with .015” to .025” thick, 300 series stainless banding. The higher tension PMB 001 Crank Tight Tensioner is typically used with stainless buckles and the PMB 101 Ratchet Tensioner is used with wing clips / wing seals. Stainless banding offers a long service life and a strong secure, versatile, non toxic, flame resistant, UV resistant, temperature resistant and corrosion resistant method of securement.
