The commercial, luxury line, and government naval shipbuilding industry uses stainless banding for pipe / cable securement, hose fitting applications, enclosure and control box securement.
Banding alloys such as 201, 300 series, 316, monel and inconel are used depending on the exposure level to salt spray or the chemical environment. Stainless buckles and wing clips are used to secure the banding together. The PMB 101 Ratchet Tensioner and PMB 001 Crank Tight Tensioning tools are used depending on the application and tension level required. Stainless buckles, stainless wing clips / wing seals are used to fasten the band ends together. Stainless buckles are used when the tension requirements are high. Stainless buckles are used with the heavy .030” thick banding and wing seals are used with .015” to .025” thick 300 series stainless banding. The higher tension PMB 001 Crank Tight is typically used with stainless buckles and the PMB 101 ratchet tensioner is used with wing clips / wing seals. Stainless and alloy banding offer a long service life and a strong, secure, versatile, non toxic, flame resistant, UV resistant, temperature resistant and corrosion resistant method of securement.
